Environmental Services
Environmental services as an activity emerged in Hungary in the early 1990s with the establishment of foreign-owned – mainly Western European – factories. Our company, along with its predecessor, encountered this type of task at the General Motors (Opel) factory in Szentgotthárd. At that time, as the sole Hungarian supplier, we were awarded a contract to develop the technology for treating the oil-emulsion wastewater generated from engine production, and we were also asked to operate it.
The philosophy of this outsourcing activity is that everyone should do what they are best at. GM is good at car manufacturing, so it outsourced other activities not directly related to car production – such as security, cleaning and transportation – and environmental protection falls into this category as well. As a first step we were entrusted with operating the wastewater treatment plant we had built, and later the other similar technologies in the factory. This activity gradually expanded to include comprehensive environmental supervision, which also covered liaison with the authorities.
This type of operation service has gradually spread and is now used not only by foreign-owned companies but also by domestic ones.
Within the framework of this service we provide
- the on-site operating personnel,
- the service tasks,
- the procurement of chemicals and other materials required for treatment,
- the preparation of the environmental reports, declarations, etc. required for operation,
- liaison with the regulatory authorities,
All of these are provided with a performance guarantee (compliance with limit values and other operational requirements). We currently provide this type of service to several companies, and our professional collaboration with some of our clients dates back several decades.
